We were recently honored to host a birthday celebration for a friend, who is an incredibly talented interior designer, and is known for her beautiful tablescapes. The goal was to exceed her expectations. Paying close attention to the small details made this an extra-special birthday celebration.
We started with a base color of fuchsia for the tablecloth and it cast a beautiful pink glow on the room. Accent colors of white and gold were brought in to soften the pop of bright pink. Gold candlesticks, sparkly gold votives and white hydrangea centerpieces tied it all together. Faux pink Ranunculus rings held gold lace trimmed napkins. Photos of the guest of honor were interspersed with fuchsia pom-poms, and suspended with pink ribbon above the table.
Everyone expects birthday cake and candles, but we raised the bar with a dessert table! The focal point was a “naked” birthday cake surrounded by giant strawberries, pastel macarons, checkerboard cookies, Italian wedding cookies, mini cupcakes and good old-fashioned Oreos. The meal was chosen by the birthday girl;
