I recently had an inspiration while reading one of Marcus Samuleson’s cookbooks, “New Scandinavian Cuisine”. When women get a break in their busy schedules, some of us like to indulge in a little pampering. A spa treatment, an afternoon of shopping or perhaps a good old fashioned ladies luncheon. Here an elegant table with classic Villeroy and Boch scalloped china, traditional spray roses with baby’s breath and Waterford crystal stemware sets the mood and lays canvas for a smoked salmon appetizer. Hard Boiled egg, creme fraiche, capers and brown bread complete the scene. A crisp and slightly sweet Geist Riesling with peach, melon, citrus and honeysuckle overtones complements the dish.
